In an effort to ferret out the most useful and interesting social web sites, I set out to do a short, but serious review of Yahoo! Answers. Honestly, I started out with good intentions, but it all went wrong.

I spent some time perusing the questions on the site to find that about 60% of them could have been more quickly and authoritatively answered using Wikipedia or a simple Google search, 30% were appropriate and answered intelligently, and about 10% were, well, dumb.

Here is a small sample of some of the quality questions on Yahoo! Answers.
