If you would like a taste of what the marriage of web and video should be, you absolutely need to take a look at TasteTV. Finally, a web site that really leverages the value of video on the net. Tired of lame videos on YouTube and Google Video? TasteTV offers video restaurant reviews, wine education, a chocolate channel, cooking videos and more. All of it served up in real style.
The TasteTV site is well-designed in an understated way. Navigating the videos on offer at TasteTV is very intuitive. The videos, presented in a large window, are of high quality and the streaming was flawless for me. The site benefits from its sharp focus on the video and food, but I could not help but think that they could build a great community of like minded food lovers around the main attraction by allowing users to comment, critique, and share.
The producers of TasteTV have chronicled their work on their blog where you can learn more about the site.
And no, I am in no way affiliated with TasteTV. I just like it a lot!
All this talk of technology and usability really makes me hungry, I am going to go back to Taste TV and see how Chef Chris Rossi, owner of Citron Restaurant prepares his fresh Tarte Fine.

I think that Indie stands for Independent. Indie is not a place. Sorry to dissappoint. As far as the quality of food presented on FoodTV, I think it is probably quite tasty, but that would of course depend on what kind of food you like. To be honest when I first reviewed the TasteTV site, I thought “Indie” might be a little confusion to some. You might give this feedback to the TasteTV people at their site.
