One of the most talked about sitcoms in the U.S., “Nobody’s Watching“, is not even on TV. Created by Bill Lawrence, the creator of “Spin City” and “Scrubs”, the show never made it to TV. NBC didn’t want the show and it had been languishing in development at the WB Network, until now. Recently, “Nobody’s Watching” was posted to YouTube and has been downloaded by more than 300,000 fans.

This highlights the growing power of TV on the web, and a slight shift of power from network executives to the viewing audience in who decides which shows see the light of day. Is this the beginning of the democratization of the process of developing shows for television, or just one example of a video gone viral?
