Forbes magazine has named its Top 25 Celebs of the Web. They defined the “web celeb” as a “person famous primarily for creating or appearing in Internet-based content, and for being highly recognizable to a Web-based audience. That definition excludes people who were significantly famous before they hit the Web–like author Arianna Huffington, billionaire Mark Cuban or journalist Michelle Malkin–and leaves us with a pool of people whose fame depends on the Internet.”
The web celebrity list is presented in pictures on the Forbes site and includes:
1) Jessica Lee Rose - Lonelygirl15 - www.lonelygirl15.com
2) Perez Hilton - celebrity gossip blogger - www.perezhilton.com
3) Markos Moulitsas ZĂșniga - political blogger - www.dailykos.com
4) Matt Drudge - web site news editor - www.drudgereport.com

Tube Hunter from Neoretix is yet another application that will download, convert and save streaming video from video sharing sites. There are a number of web based and PC based solutions out there including iTube and Save-A-Sex among many others. Tube Hunter does not come free like the others, so you would have to really need the extra features to justify paying for Tube Hunter.
Tube Hunter does support a wide variety of video sharing sites and formats, so if you are a hard core downloader, this might be a good option.
Tube Hunter downloads videos from YouTube, MySpace, Photobucket, Metacafe, Dailymotion, iFilm, Flurl, Pornotube, xTube, yuvutu, AlphaCocks, Bebo, Break, VSocial, Grouper, Bolt, Yikers, Revver, Guba, Vidilife and Blip.tv, and saves them on your computer or directly to your iPOD.
All downloaded videos can be converted by TubeHunter …

iLaugh hosts a great collection of original cartoons. It dubs itself “the second sweetest comedy portal on earth”. The site is well built, welcoming, and easy to navigate making it a fun place to visit. More importantly, they have some great original content. My favorite is “Becoming Georgie” an animated short about a scenario in which Saddam Hussein and George Bush are college room mates. (via TeevBlogger)

MovieNode has an interesting article on the progress toward bringing video that you download using your PC to your television. Microsoft and Starz Entertainment/Vongo are partnering on the initiative. Here is the marketing speak from the Starz press release:

This is a post-mortem video of Saddam Hussein’s body after hanging. A short blurb from the CNN story:
“ (CNN) — A new video apparently showing Saddam Hussein after his execution with a gaping neck wound and facial bruising is posted on the Internet.
The footage, which appeared Monday, shows the former Iraqi dictator, apparently still wearing the white shirt and black coat he was hanged in, lying on a gurney covered with a white sheet.
The 27-second videotape, posted on www.liveleak.com, shows the camera approaching the gurney and someone pulling back the sheet to reveal the left side of Hussein’s head.”

EroShare (NSFW) is not exactly video on the Net, but rather a photo sharing site for adult photos. The site which launched on January 1, is to Flickr what PornoTube is to YouTube. Users are encouraged to upload their amateur erotic photos. Eroshare gives users 2GB of storage for free.
EroShare, a creation from the Netherlands, offers all the strappings of a Web 2.0 photo sharing service including friends, tagging, albums, commenting, etc.
