The are a number of social networking sites out there, the most famous is myspace.com aimed at teens, and there are many others aimed at different demographic groups and purposes. For instance, linkedin is focused on work professionals that want to create a network.
fo.rtuito.us is another entry into the crowded field. It does offer a very interesting twist on the standard model. Once you are signed up it randomly introduces you to another member. You have four days to interact with that member via anonymous email to see if you would like to become friends . If after those four days both of you decide that you would like to stay friends, you are added to each other’s friend list. fo.rtuito.us then matches you up with another potential friend for another four days.
I have just signed up and they say they will send me my first potential friend within 24 hours. I will keep you posted.

What’s up with the name? It is really hard to remember and to type? Not very original as many others have been doing the same thing.
The site says that meeting does not have to be about how someone looks, then they require a picture to sign up. Hmmmm?
