Fliqz, a video sharing web site, is very similar to the existing sites such as YouTube, Yahoo! Video, Google Video, Microsoft’s upcoming Soapbox, and many others.  The site allows you to upload, categorize, and share your videos globally or with your friends.

I signed up and looked around and could not find information on what upload restrictions apply (i.e. file types, file sizes, upload limits, etc.)

To survive in this market, Fliqz will need to find some way to differentiate itself.   It looks like they are focusing more on the social networking side, and slightly de-emphasizing the video’s themselves.    Fliqz is focusing on users that are posting videos for friends rather than to the entire world.  Instead of a home page that just shows videos, Fliqz highlights sections on friends, collections, and the videos themselves.   The challenge here is that social networking concepts only really work well when most your friends are already there, and Fliqz does not seem to have the scale to make that claim.
